I've been re-re-reading Joe's amazing work Crystal & Stone. Like in Mickey's songs, re-reading C&S means discovering different and deeper layers of meaning of Mickey Newbury's role in my life and writing songs. Besides that, by re-reading the old board I realised how much friendship he and this website made. I thank him (again) for that, just as much as I thank the Newbury's and y'all for letting me be a part of his extended family of friends. In these times we face worldwide, being who he was brought the best in us to share. We need friendship like that more then ever. Miss ya Mick. Miss y'all. |
