Message:  Another of Mickey's beguiling, intriguing and confusing lyrics.

'...Pen in hand I take a stand
I got nothing deep to say...'

But the song says so much:
the plight of the homeless; the power of the pen over the sword(or bullet); those hoping to be saved by the words of the song, the songwriter doubting the impact of his words.
