| Message: | Ginny I suspect Mickey would have been writing about the things that caught his mind's eye and, as with so many of his songs, make us think more deeply or see more clearly the world around us now. I've seen brief reference to Mickey's use of a digital guitar an instrument, even now, seen as 'cutting edge'. Similarly, Mickey's ideas in the recording studio - ambient noises, overlapping tracks, crossing the boundaries of musical genres too create music so difficult to pigeon-hole and so easy to love. I continue to introduce Mickey's music by word of mouth. All the doctors and nurses helping me with my cancer now know that Mickey Newbury is the 'greatest singer songwriter nobody's ever heard of'! '...through all my confusion You could hear the perfect song I still love you after all these years...' |
