Message: | how much of life does any 21 year old know? not much I hear you say. Imagine if you will, listening to Mickey Newbury for the very first time at this age...........?? Imagine the impact it would have made on you according to your limited life experience....?? Imagine.....an innocence held captive as opposed to an innocence lost......?? Imagine.....the difference, .....and then imagine the words to his songs..... ~*~ the innocence of his words........captured. Mickey would have been 33 years old when I was 21. I am now 63. Older now than when Mickey passed over. So?........... I am none the wiser, still 21 in a lot of ways. Mickey's music still touches me.....'a warm southern wind on my weather-worn skin' Perhaps I would not feel so old. 62 was too young.......... Imagine him at 75. |
