Message: | Joe Mickey would have been 75: his kind words and gentle manner are ageless. I'll never forget Mickey's generosity to me when I visited Cottage Grove and Springfield, or the time he took to reply personally to my letters and emails. Joe, all us porchers owe you gratitude too: you are the curator of Mickey's life and legacy, carved in Crystal and Stone. RB, Mickey's harmonica player, who was touring in Europe at the time, phoned to tell me of Mickey's death. Does anyone know what, or where, RB is up to now? 'Shades of '63': a lifetime in song; a song about his lifetime: Mickey - alive still in his words and music. '... when I was a little baby sittin' on his knee shades of '43...' |
