I am both ashamed and astonished that I missed Mickey's music before just recently. I am a little younger than Mickey, being born in 1945 but I was a music fanatic and a garage musician and still try my hand at poetry. I do not know how with all the hours I listened to radio and records that I did not hear his amazing voice and lyrics directly from him. I am in awe after making this discovery and listening to over 40 of his songs in a few days....not a bad one in the bunch. I am so glad that at a time when I am closing in on the end of life, I found Mickeys music in time to enjoy every word and note. Thank you Mickey. |
