The surgery that could have taken anywhere from 2 to 4 hours - took 1 hour and 30 minutes and Dr. Jeyarajah is pleased with the outcome. He was able to remove the diseased part of the pancreas and stitched the effected area closed. This should stop the leaking. She still has a drain but if the surgery is successful it will indeed be temporary.
There is a very large incision across the top of her abdomin and her pain level is more intense than it has been since this epic began. Dr. Jey says the prayer requests are for an infection free environment and good respitory function. I add to that a request for effective pain management.
Optimism has been more elusive this time, for both of us. This long journey has taken a toll. Lift us up, Dear Dear Brothers and Sisters. We need your strength.
Love and Blessings,
Sylvia and Rene
