Subject:  When is a postcard enough?
Message:  Here's my sad tale of woe. When my Mom was about to give birth to me, Dad told his mother that he'd call when I was born. (I was my parents' firstborn.) Grandma said not to waste money on a long-distance phone call. She said they should just send a postcard when I was born. I believe I was her 16th grandchild. I think I'm still scarred from hearing that story.

Luckily, I was the first grandchild for my maternal grandparents so all was not lost. :)

Make 'em keep calling you about the babies, Bill.
