Subject:  Surfing Madonna
Message:  Much controversry over a stained glass mural that mysteriously appeared under a train overpass near Swami's off 101. Our Lady of Guadalupe. A surfing Madonna complete with neoprene booties. She joins the Cardiff Kook just down the road. Commissioned by the Botanical Society, but the locals make fun of. Magic Carpet Ride is the Kook's official name, however the sculpture's gained fame for outlandish costumes. Pink tutu, Zorro, Jaws, Vincent Van Gogh for the artist's birthday complete with Absinthe and bloody ear on the ground. Tourists line up to take pictures. The Kook has his own web page and videos on You Tube. Christmastime my kids want the calendar. Unfortunately the surfing Madonna is not authorized and may get wiped out. I hope not. She's very beautiful in her flying green robe, Saint Juan Diego smiling on the nose of her board, and SAVE THE OCEAN message.
