Subject: | Re: Was Mickey a Smoker? |
Message: | From Jonmark Stone's song, "When I Heard Newbury Sing"... The line, "Then he paused to light a Camel" Here are the lyrics. Jonmark is one talented man as so many of us have discovered. Enjoy. I met him in Nashville...he was working at his trade A dreamer and a good one... I listened while he played And I swore I almost saw her as he sang of Angelene And I came to hear the music when I heard Newbury sing He sang a tale of L.A. ... and a boy who lost his way We hopped a train in Georgia.. two thousand miles we came Then he paused to light a Camel and with a twinkle in his eye He said "Don't write what you don't know son, they'll know it when you lie" A few weeks back I saw him... the poet looked his age The students all fell silent as the teacher took the stage And I swore I almost saw her as he sang of Geneveve And I came to hear the music... I came to face the music I came to love the music... when I heard Newbury sing |
