Message:  SamfromOK,
I retired on my 55th Birthday ~ October 6, 2005 ~ from a Public Education Principal-ship and District Grant Coordinator/Writer.

I taught for 8 years, before slipping into administrator roles in public education in Texas. I have been both a Principal and Assistant Principal, a district Testing Coordinator, a district Grant Coordinator/Writer, and a grant reader/scorer for the State of Texas.

I agreed to Establish Daystar Christian Academy and Day Care for Honea Baptist Church in May 2006; and, after getting it state licensed, I directed the Academy and Day Care for 3 years.

In March of 2007, my husband and I added two young sons to our family of 4 GROWN children (now ages 34 through 39) ~ Jason 22 months and Jonathan 4 years. They were in CPS care and needed a loving home and Mommy and Daddy. We OFFICIALLY became Mommy and Daddy at the final adoption on Feb. 29, 2008!

I was again asked to pull together a state licensed program. I establish a Christian after/before school program ~ AGAPE TERRITORY ~ in August 2009 and acquired state licensing for it. I am currently it's "Volunteer Director" for Walden Community Church, until the program grows enough to afford a full-time director (should be very soon!)

Additionally, we have 10 GRANDchildren and 1 GRANDdog...Three of our GRANDchildren are here for a few days on Spring break as we speak! (Swim Spa, Incredible Pizza, Movie ~ Diary of a Wimpy Kid ~ tomorrow, etc...)

I do not know how or where I found the time to work full time...

I have loved my career and found much satisfaction in seeing so many positive outcomes throughout the years for children, staff, communities and families; but, I love my 'R.E.T.I.R.E.M.E.N.T and the time I now have to devote to and enjoy my family, friends and events like THE MICKEY NEWBURY GATHERING.

AND I HAVE REALIZED THAT..There's never enough time to do all the nothing you want. - Bill Watterson
