Message:  Mamie,
I never met Mickey. But as my post said, he always touches my heart. There have been times in all of our lives when we question what we have learned. Sometimes, as Mickey so eloquently wrote, I question my own reality. I even wonder if the gentle path is the wrong one. It takes me a minute or two, and even through the pain of losing a loved one or watching a beloved friend going down an alley he or she shouldn't go, I know there is hope.
At least, I know that one of my seers has known the troubled path that some of our lives have taken. I know that somewhere in the world there is a tender poet who argued with himself at 4AM about choices we all have to make, and wrote it all down.
Everyone has their own personal Gethsemane. Words I wrote for Richard, a buddy who passed 2 years ago Easter, mean the same to Mickey and his family and crew on the Front Porch:
"If it were to come about that I left in the night, I would walk the Elysian Fields heavy in my heart that I hadn’t thanked you for being in my life and making me sweeter than I could have ever been had you not crossed my path.
Have I told you lately that I love you? Well, I’m telling you now.
May you live forever, and may I never die…"
