|Message:||I'm perplexed about a violent adaption of Jesus's last hours. Found out sad news tonight about a young friend of mine... Life somehow brutalized his dreams to a point where he needs to kill his pain with too many drugs.
Of course, I turn to my music like a crystal ball to see if there is a place to comfort my own heart.
Mickey was there.
In my heart of hearts, I know that forgiveness and kindness are sometimes the toughest jewels to find. It is so very difficult to find the fleeting peace we seek. It is so very easy to take the low road to revenge and anger, and righteous justice.
Mickey met me on the road home tonight. A tender heart soothed mine with nothing more than a touch on my cheek.
For me, the Biblical miracle of the healing hand wasn't so much the curing of blindness or leprosy. It was that one heart reached out and touched another heart.
Mickey soothed my heart tonight.
Listened to Mickey's Danny Boy, the ultimate song of a mother's love. Mickey sang a prologue as beautiful as the original song, except it was to Danny.
This is the song taught through everyone's gospels, be they Buddhist or Christian, Taoist or Hindu.
Tenderness, kindness and forgiveness are the healing touch of God. (Lord I'm rambling once again).
Anyway, with my broken heart, I turned to Mickey.
I can't begin to tell you how he quietly reminds me of the tender shepherd.
In this Lenten Season, I meditate on forgivness, kindness, and the frailty of the human heart, not on sin or guilt or violence.
As ever, thank you, Mickey, for reminding me.
Spring is but a week away. Hope patiently awaits the seeker.
With Love to the Front Porch,
