Message: | Funny that you should mention that... I have strayed from the straight and narrow of bladesmithing for the moment. To date this year, I have only re-handled two knives for one of our fellow Porchers. Peculiar aspect of this craft... We have all heard of the Bowie knife but not many remember that it was James Black in Washington, Arkansas that made the first "Bowie Knife", just like I associate "The First Cut is the Deepest" with Rod Stewart, not Cat Stevens..."I'm a Believer" with the Monkees and not Neil Diamond...dare I say..."American Trilogy" by Elvis and not Mickey Newbury??? Is it truly the singer and not the song (as Pete Townsend stated) that keeps the music moving along? I am at a ponderance, a cross-road. Regardless what I "decide", is it the truth, or just "my truth"? Maybe I just need to go to bed... Craig |
