When our family moved to Moorpark in the early 60's, High Street and Spencer's Market were about all there was. We joked that at 6pm when most of the shops closed, they rolled up the sidewalks.

Remember ... no traffic lights, no fast foods, no city gov't. A town of 5000 'Mayberry'-loving people. Almost no drugs, gangs, or crime. You knew everybody ... and everybody knew you.
