Subject:  Update from Mary Anne on behalf of Mamie
Message:  Dear Friends and Family,

We wanted to give you and update on Don and the tests he took last week. The tests indicate that Don still has cancer throughout his body and so, he will have to undergo one, two, or even three more treatments.

The next one is Dec. 19th. Please mark that on your calendar. You can not imagine how much easier the chemotherapy is on Don because of your prayers. He is still very allergic to the Retuxin; the doctors and staff believe he is able to withstand it because of the way it is administered in his body. Maybe, that is true. We believe it is because so many, many of you have been so faithful to keep him in your prayers on the day he is having chemo.

For several years, we have given the children and us, too, a family Christmas ski trip in lieu of gifts. Well, because of this news we have had to cancel our family vacation.

Christmas will be here at home.... And what better place to focus on the true meaning of Christmas which is the celebration of Christ's birth than in one's own home surrounded by family and friends!! We are truly looking forward to a quiet Christmas here at home.

I have decorated the house extra special this year and have gotten all of Don's and the children's favorite foods in the pantry and freezer so I can make this Christmas the most special one of all thus far for all of us.

In spite of this news, we still have lots to be thankful for and we spend most of our evenings laughing and being silly. Just last night, Don sneaked up on me not once but twice and scared the bajeebies out of me. After screaming really loud and jumping up and down out of fright, we laughed and laughed and laughed.

Again, thank you dear family and friends for all that you have done for us during Don's illness. We will never forget the love, kindnesses, food, chores done, cards, emails, and phone calls.

Please know that Don and I have not reached the end of the road, just an unexpected bend...

God Bless You,
Mary Anne

PS I'll send out an update right before Dec. 19th, to let you know exactly how and what to pray for....
