In case you have not been made aware, I wanted to share with each of you the news of Dennis Linde's passing on December 22nd. Many of you may recall that Dennis produced Mickey Newbury's wonderful and renowned 'Frisco Mabel Joy' album that hit the marketplace around 1972. Dennis was also an amazing songwriter; wrote a slew of uncompromized hits over the years including 'Callin Baton Rouge for Garth Brooks,'Burning Love' for Elvis Presley and 'Tom Green County Fair' for the late great Roger Miller. This scarcely begins to scratch the
surface of his lifetime creative output nor does it begin to define him as a 'type' of songwriter.
He was a family man who ducked the limelight that surrounded his many musical acheivements but was a friend to all, and I know that he loved Mickey Newbury.
Dennis died of the rare Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. He was 63. He was loved by many.
