Back in 1979 I spent the Thanksgiving and Christmas holidays living in Poland. My host family didn't know a thing about Thanksgiving, only what they saw in American films.
I wrote out what our family traditionally prays before the feast, and they translated it into Polish. Since that time, Thanksgiving will always be "Dzien Indyka", or roughly ... TURKEY DAY.
Happy Dzien Indyka (pronounced "JEAN IN DEEKA" and holiday blessings to all my friends and Porch Family.
