| Message: | I received a call from our sweet Mamie this afternoon as she and Pete headed for the Silver Moon Cafe. I had e-mailed Reneda last night with the message that Sylvia and I couldn't make it down to Flordia this year. While the effects of the chemo haven't been as bad as I had expected, the full force of last weeks treatment hit pretty hard yesterday. "Flu-like-symptoms" is the best way to describe things. Anyway, the first Newbury Night was last night (Sunday) and Mamie said that Chris Newbury, with his Dad's guitar, took his Father's normal seat on stage last night and hung five of Mickey's best up to wave in the wind...he received the only standing ovation of the evening. Dang, I wanted to be there. |
