Message:  Yes, LL, I had a great time. I don't know how families dealt with wars and husbands going off in previous times. I talked to Kristi about it & she isn't so sure that it might have been easier, not hearing from your soldier for months or years. Now, she often hears from Ed, knowing he's going out on patrol..then doesn't hear again for 24 hours & gets all sorts of wild thoughts of what might be going on. She gets emails & texts from other wives of platoon members. Then one will get a message & lets all the others know that they are ok. Just had communications shut down for a day or something. It's crazy. Me? I just wonder what the hell we're doing there in the first place.
