| Message: | Ryan's dad was taken to the ICU recently for what they thought were major heart problems. Now they've found blood clots in his lungs, and are taking a look at options for treatment. Please keep one of my favorite men, and the one who introduced me to Ryan, in your prayers. His name is Wayne. While we were in the ICU waiting room, we met a family (crammed to the brim) waiting anxiously for they're mother/grandmother/great-grandmother to come out of a major and dangerous surgery. I spoke with this woman's daughter (who sparked a conversation about agriculture after she saw I was wearing a very worn pair of boots) and she told me that three months earlier they had lost her dad in a terrible car accident involving her two sons and her brother, who were all very close to losing their lives. They also lost a dog the next week, and two horses to disease the following, only to find an onset of serious and dire illness in her mother. As I told the family of Wayne's situation, and how worried Ryan was about his father, they assured me that his need would never go unnoticed! They would tell their relatives to pray for him, and seeing as they streched from Oregon to Alaska, she told me that his name would be on a lot of lips! I smiled when I thought about the board and how we have the ability to change and influence lives here through prayer and sacrifice. My mind is boggled and unfortunately I have forgotten the woman's name, but I'm sure if we call her "the Oregon ICU woman in need" someone will hear. *grin* In whatever form of prayer you practice, even if you merely whisper her "name" on the wind, please send sympathies to a family in need in Oregon tonight. The doctors told them she wouldn't make it through the night, and she is hanging on still. That should show for something in itself... Laura |
