I am so grateful for Dad's music because it continues to provide insight into his life and personality, even though he isn't around. As I grow older, I understand his music differently, I appreciate different songs, and every once in a while, catch a glimmer of something that I think he would have liked to have explained to me, but couldn't find a way, so he left a song so that when the time was right I would understand what he wanted me to know. A couple of the songs that I keep listening to again and again right now are Rambling Blues and Nights When I am Sane. I really feel like Winter Winds is one of the most insightful of his albums...it allows a glimpse out of the window and into his heart. |
